Oracle expands repurchase program by $4 billion

Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) announced a $4 billion expansion of the company’s share repurchase program bringing the total buyback authorization to $4.7 billion.



Although there is no timeline on completing the repurchase, Oracle has a solid track record of returning capital to shareholders that totals $25.8 billion since the inception of the program and $3.4 billion in the current fiscal year. With approximately 5.14 billion shares outstanding and assuming the expanded repurchase program is completed in 12 months, we project the Total Payout to be $0.91 per share over the next 4 quarters. At $19 per share, the Total Payout Yield is projected to be 4.8%.
